Moral Policing on Dressing- Yay or Nay?

On 29th of December, Ashmita Das @ashmita1998 conducted a tweetchat on “Moral Policing on Dressing- Yay or Nay?”

The chat began by discussing whether women are judged based on what they wear, particularly in India. The people also discussed whether people from LGBTIQ community are free to express themselves through their choice of dressing. The audience discussed about why most schools don’t allow teachers to wear jeans. People gave their thoughts on India’s culture minister Mahesh Sharma’s statement “Foreign tourists should not wear skirts”. Bringing the chat to an end, the discussion revolved around how focus can be shifted from victim blaming.
