Cloak around Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights

On 21st June Richa Hingorani @RichaHingorani conducted a Tweetchat on Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health rights (SRHR)–

The chat began by asking the audience what they understood about women’s SRHR and how she can realize her rights. The audience responded that SRHR is a woman’s ability to recognize that she has a say in both her sexual and reproductive rights. She should not be pressurized or influenced by external parties in the way she wished to conduct herself. Later, the audience shared their encounters where they suffered barriers in accessing SRHR. The next topic of discussion was the different trusted sources from where women can obtain correct information. The next question was about how crucial SRHR is to realizing SDG 5 i.e. Gender Equality. The discussion ended by asking the audiences their suggestions on ways of lifting the cloak around women’s SRHR.
