Workplace Harassment and Safety

Avani Parekh, @alittlemasala from SHEROESIndia @SHEROESIndia which is a career network for working women curated our account this past week and held an extremely provoking and informative TweetChat on the prevalence of workplace harassment and the measures required to ensure safety.

The discussion examined the theme of harassment in the workplace and the obstacles a large population of the working women have to overcome. Various perspectives were brought out from the role that women have come to play in the paradigm for companies to the problems they face. In addition, the responsibility of the organisations themselves and that of people who are in leadership positions was brought into question and how harassment cases should be dealt with to ensure a comfortable working environment, which should not be defined by the gender of an individual. In the chat, a multitude of participants brought in unique and distinct ideas and solutions to the issues at hand.
