Safecity in Online and Virtual Spaces

On 23rd March, Breakthrough India @INBreakthrough conducted a about safety of women in online/ virtual spaces. With a week full of news about Cambridge Analytica stealing the data of general population, we all have been reminded that social media isn’t the  most reliable platform really! This much discussed and much needed topic was analysed during the tweetchat. The chat included the statistics of online harassment of women. The topics ranged from online bullying to online sexual harassment. Participants also talked of trolls (which are, in a way the most used tools for spreading the agenda of sexism nowadays). During the tweetchat, participants came up with solutions to prevent online harassment. The solutions ranged from awareness about online harassment to strict law enforcement.

A tweetchat by Breakthrough India!
